How to draw a 3D Hexagon:
Dear kids, in today’s 3D drawing, we will learn how to draw a 3D hexagon. What is a 3D hexagon? A 3D hexagon drawing is a hexagonal prism. A prism with a hexagonal base. A hexagon is a six-sided polygon. A truncated octahedron can be considered a 3D hexagon as it has a hexagonal base. In mathematics, the hexagon is defined as a polygon structure. A hexagon drawing has 6 sides and 6 angles.
There are two types of hexagons in mathematics:
- Regular hexagon
- Irregular hexagon
A regular hexagon is most often in use in geometry. The regular hexagon has some properties, which are below:
- In a regular hexagon, all the sides have the same lengths.
- Each angle is at 120°
- The total aggregate of bends in a hexagon is 720°
An irregular hexagon has the following properties:
- All sides of an irregular hexagon do not have the same lengths.
- They don’t have the same angles.
- They are rare in use in mathematics.
Few hexagons are found in nature; examples are snowflakes, honeycombs, etc.

9 simple steps on how to draw a 3D hexagon:
For drawing a 3d hexagon, 9 simple & easy steps will help you for drawing a hexagon.
Step 1:
In step 1, kids, you need to draw three horizontal lines with the help of a ruler. The upper & lower line is shorter than the middle line. The central line is longer than the upper and lower bar. The middle line should be diagonal.
Step 2:
In step 2, you need to draw the four corners. Draw a diagonal line from the central bar towards the upper side of the line from the right corner. Join the upper and middle ropes, then draw a diagonal line downwards. Do the same procedure on the left side of the diagram. In this step, you will get a hexagon. I hope kids will know how to draw a 3D hexagon.
Step 3:
In step 3, draw a diagonal line from the 6th to the 4th corner. Just put numbers to remember actions, then remove them.
Step 4:
Now draw the intersecting lines from the 1st corner of a hexagon to the 5th corner. This diagonal line will intersect where we draw 1st from the 6th corner to the 4th corner.
Step 5:
In step 5, we draw a line from the 3rd corner of the hexagon. The bar will be diagonal in shape towards the upper side of the hexagon. Then draw another diagonal line that will move downwards & join the intersecting line moving down from corner 1st to the 5th corner.
Step 6:
Draw a diagonal line from the 5th corner that will intersect the line from corner 6th to corner 4th. This line will move above by crossing the line from corner 3rd to corner 5th.
Step 7:
In step 7, we draw a diagonal line from the 1st corner of the hexagon. That will join the intersecting line moving from corner 3rd to the 6th corner. Then draw another diagonal line that will move from the corner to enter the intersecting line moving from the 3rd corner to the 6th. At the end of this step, we will get a truncated octahedron, considered the hexagon drawing.
Step 8:
In step 8, draw all the intersecting lines to make them clearer & more visible.
Step 9:
In this last step, we should use the marker to draw the hexagon. It will make it more visible & clearer. Now fills in the color in the hexagon. I hope kids learn how to draw a 3D hexagon.
Conclusion:
Dear kids, I hope you learn 3D hexagon drawing. Drawing a hexagon is easy but needs a little more attention. Keep learning these drawings & improve your drawing skills.
